Arts Scholarship


If you are a senior currently enrolled at Ilwaco, Naselle-Grays River, South Bend. Willapa Valley, or Raymond High School and will be enrolling in a higher education art program (visual, music, graphic arts, drama, dance, culinary) in the fall, you are eligible to apply for a college scholarship of up to $1000.00 for the 2017-2018 school year.

  • Please mail your senior scholarship packet and a portfolio of visual art work, or a record of performance art to the Willapa Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 401, South Bend Washington 98586.
  • The deadline for applications is April 30, 2017.
  • A personal interview or audition with the foundation’s Board of Directors could be required.
  • Scholarship money will be awarded at the end of a successful first quarter in college.
  • A transcript of a successfully completed first term must be provided to the board before funds will be released to your schools’ financial department. For more information, please contact Judy.
  • Willapa Harbor Festival


    WHF will sponsor a vendor's’ booth at the Willapa Harbor Festival in downtown Raymond, August 4 through August 6. This will be booth available to local high school students to sell their art/craft work. The Foundation only provides the space for their use, alll money earned is theirs to keep.

    Students need parental/guardian consent and will be responsible for handling all of their own sales.

    To be eligible to take advantage of this opportunity, students must submit this application by July 15th to Willapa Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 401, South Bend, Washington 98586. Acceptance for space at the booth will be the sole decision of the Willapa Heritage Foundation board. When a student is accepted for a place at the booth, they and a parent/guardian will be asked to sign a contract detailing their responsibilities when using the booth.

    Our annual “Hearts for the Arts” fund raiser each February supports these, and other art programs in our community.

    What We Do


    The Willapa Heritage Foundation provides support to local artists and supports the arts in the Willapa Bay area. We promote diverse cultural and artistic enrichment programs and opportunities for our community - children and adults - to both create and enjoy art.

    We hold one annual fundraiser, Hearts for the Arts, to support these goals.

    Community and Artist Grants Youth Art Scholarships

    Our mission is to promote cultural and artistic enrichment in our community. We provide opportunities for members of our community to both create and enjoy art.In the last fiscal year the Foundation has given money to the Carriage House Museum, the Timberland Library’s art programs, the Willapa Harbor Choral, Sunday Afternoon Live and our local schools. If you're an artist or organization providing Arts education or Arts based programming and would like to request financial assistance from the Willapa Heritage please contact us.

    In 2016, we supported purchase of instruments for the Cauncey Davis Elementary music program, drawing classes for teens at the Raymond and South Bend Timberland Library, and other art programs at local schools.

    We offer a scholarship of up to $1000 to local students who will go on to pursue a degree in the arts. The application for the 2017 scholarship is due by April 30, 2017. Applicants must submit their senior scholarship packet, and a portfolio or record of their work. Submit applications by mail to P.O. Box 401 South Bend Washington 98586.
